70.1 Transfer Qualifications:
Candidates with one year of permanent competitive service or the completion of a permanent traineeship in one of the following titles may qualify for transfer to Labor Services Representative, Grade 16:
Employment Counselor, SG 18
Investigative Officer 1 (and parenthetic), SG 16
Labor Services Representative (and parenthetic);
Labor Services Representative LVER (and parenthetic), SG 16
Jobs Program Specialist, SG 16
Supervising Labor Services Representative, SG 20
Candidates with one year of permanent competitive service or the completion of a permanent traineeship in one of the following titles may qualify for transfer to Labor Services Representative Trainee 2, eq. Grade 14:
UI Reviewing Examiner, SG 16
Candidates with one year of permanent competitive service or the completion of a permanent traineeship in one of the following titles may qualify for Transfer to Labor Services Representative Trainee 1, eq. Grade 13:
Disability Review Psychologist, SG 25
Employment Services Representative, SG 18
Medical Relations Coordinator, SG 23
Safety and Health Inspector, SG 16
Human Resources Specialist 1, SG 18
Youth Counselor 1, SG 18
Youth Counselor 1 (Spanish Language), SG 18
70.4 Transfer Qualifications:
Candidates with one year of permanent competitive service as a Grade 11 or higher, who have a bachelor’s degree*, and who have taken and passed the most recent open competitive examinations appropriate for Labor Services Representative Trainee 1, may qualify for transfer.
*From a regionally accredited college or university, or one recognized by the New York State Education Department as following acceptable education practices.
Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES:
As a Labor Services Representative you would be trained, under supervision, to assist customers and provide services to the public in accordance with quality and quantity standards mandated by various laws, rules and Federal regulations. You would learn how to interview and elicit information from customers, examine claims issues and make determinations to resolve complex or unusual problems related to eligibility for Unemployment Insurance benefits.
