Minimum Qualifications Must be currently serving in the title of Direct Support Assistant with the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities.

Duties Description The duties include but are not limited to:
•Successful candidate must have experience working with a diverse group of individuals.
•The incumbent will be assigned on a daily basis to work with various classroom instructors.
•Incumbent will assist, train, and supervise developmentally disabled individuals in developing skills as outlined in prescribed treatment plans.
•Data collections and other record-keeping is required.
•The incumbent will have contact with family members, neighbors, community vendors, and service providers.

Additional Comments Current AMAP, SCIP, First Aid and CPR Certifications are preferred. A valid Driver’s License is required. Successful candidates must be able to work with non-ambulatory consumers. Heavy lifting is often considered in the selection process. Experience working with aggressive consumers with behavior problems is also preferred.
