Minimum Qualifications Interested candidates must currently be reachable on the Information Technology Specialist 2, SG-18 list, OR be eligible to transfer under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.

52.6 Transfer:
Candidates must have one year permanent, competitive service in a qualifying title allocated to salary grade 16 or higher.

Duties Description • Install and configure new software;
• Conduct Operational Readiness Tests on newly built system components;
• Administer system components through the use of tools and techniques and relevant computer capabilities;
• Monitor and maintain the efficiency, reliability, and effectiveness of the Retirement Benefit Administration System, or third party software;
• Applying timely updates, fixes and patches to the system as needed;
• Work closely with other systems personnel to coordinate and properly apply system updates;
• Communicate regularly with the supervisor on software issues, system problems and project needs as identified;
• Create and maintain Installation and System Operations documentation for system components;
• Prepare How-To Documentations used by team members as a quick reference for how to complete assigned tasks;
• Assist in the development and updating of procedures for maintaining systems including researching available information and standards for maintaining such information;
• Communicate and collaborate with technical and non-technical staff to implement new procedures upon approval by supervisor;
• Troubleshoot and resolve software and systems issues as needed;
• Migrate Code using the Phile Version control Software;
• Coordinate Systems Outages and bring down/up system components as needed;
• Support Testing Teams in the development and execution of test scripts and testing as needed;
• Provide on-call support for nightly batch processing as needed;
• Participate in the development of technical and/or functional requirements.
