Duties Description Under the direction of a Manager Information Technology Services 1, SG27 within the Chief Operations Office (COO) Data Center Networks (DCN) Service Area, located in Albany, the incumbent will function as a subject matter expert for the Data Center Networks (DCN) group.

Data Center Networks (DCN) group which provides network services for the consolidated NYS data centers and is responsible for ensuring traffic between the current CNSE and EI (legacy) infrastructure is not interrupted, and that customer agency critical services are not jeopardized.
This position is in the Data Center Networks (DCN) group which provides network services for the consolidated New York State (NYS) Data Centers and is responsible for ensuring the proper flow of traffic between critical applications and locations for both voice and data networks. Current data center locations include: CNSE NFX; CNSE ZEN; Utica; 50 Wolf Road; 500 Balltown Road; Swan Street; and Weehawken, NJ; as well as many other legacy data centers which are targeted for consolidation.
DCN provides implementation, support, and engineering for environments and technologies associated with the network infrastructure within the NYS consolidated data centers. These data centers house many of the existing applications that NYS residents, as well as agencies, utilize. This infrastructure requires 24x7x365 coverage and support. All existing NYS agency data centers are currently migrating their applications and infrastructure to the consolidated data centers.
The Project Coordinator is needed to provide network services for the consolidated New York State (NYS) Data Centers and will be responsible for ensuring the proper flow of traffic between critical applications and locations for both voice and data networks.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• • Provide project and technical support for the migration of Agency Data Centers to the State Data Centers at CNSE and Utica.

• Provide project management and technical support for the DCJS and IJAB migration to CNSE and Utica Data Centers.

• Responsible for planning, implementing, and supporting changes to the network including cable infrastructure, network software and hardware.

• Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation of active infrastructure, including Visio diagrams, operations procedures, training manuals, network templates.

• Coordinate with User Support and System Administrators to provide Level III support for technical solutions.

• Handle the tasks of providing network engineering input on major projects, upgrades, installations.

• Engineer, install and design the network environments for the new ZEN data center.

• Provide off-hours support for the network environments within the consolidated data centers.

• Complete firewall and load balance changes as requested in ITSM 2.0.

• Monitor and provide technical expertise for the network environments being migrated into the consolidated data centers.
