Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Reassignment: Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55 b/c service as an Education Program Assistant 2
Section 70.1 Transfer: Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service as an Education Credentials Specialist 1 AND 18 semester credit hours in Education.
Eligible List Appointment: Candidates must be reachable on the Civil Service eligible list for this title.

Duties Description The New York State Education Department’s Office of Education Policy is seeking candidates for an Education Program Assistant 2 position in the Office of Special Education’s Program Development and Support Services (PDSS) Unit. This Unit is responsible for project management and oversight of selected special education grants and contracts. The incumbent of this position will support the work of regional technical assistance networks for targeted improvement activities as identified in the State’s Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) State Performance Plan. Other duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Coordinate logistics for regional meetings, conferences and seminars and arrange statewide public hearings on proposed regulations and legislation;
• Arrange for the meetings of the Commissioner’s Advisory Panel for Special Education Services;
• Maintain a master network calendar of meeting dates, times and locations;
• Process and record fiscal vouchers for approximately 100 contracts and grants;
• Maintain records of current contracts, grants and Requests for Proposals; and
• Coordinate office space arrangements for staff in the Office of Special Education.
Additional Comments CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: This will be a permanent appointment. Promotions and transfers may change appointees’ negotiating unit. Applicants should be aware that changes in negotiating units may affect their salary, insurance, and other benefits. Verification of degree and credit hours will be required.
*Leads to a maximum salary of $70,566 based on annual performance advances.
