Minimum Qualifications Reachable on Civil Service Eligible List for Children and Family Services Specialist 2 OR
One year of permanent competitive service as a Children and Family Services Specialist 2 or eligible for a 70.1 transfer.
Note: If you are reachable on the Children and Family Services Specialist 2 list, you will receive a canvass letter.
Duties Description Provide regular oversight, monitoring and yearly certification to at least 2 Secure Detention facilities and up to seven non-secure detention facilities in the designated regions.
Provide systematic oversight via secure detention focused reviews to those detention facilities who pose a risk to areas of health and safety of youth and staff.
Conduct oversight and monitoring for the NYS Detention programs around all related Justice Center reports.
Provide assistance to the programs around CAP development and implementation for those incidents reported to the Justice Center.
Represent the Bureau of Detention in OCFS DJJOY regional meetings and provide technical assistance and support to counties in assigned detention region which includes up to up to 11 counties in NYS.
Provide training in the area of detention services to the DJJOY CMSO staff.
Special projects assigned as needed.
