Duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Plan, lay out, and complete masonry and plastering work - including preparing job estimates and ordering supplies.

• Conduct repairs on stone walls, stairways, stone paths, and stone bridges, often in remote locations of the park interior.
• Lay building materials such as stone, brick, concrete, and cinder blocks to construct or repair walls, partitions, utility manholes, and firebrick linings in furnaces and chimneys.
• Lay out concrete flat work, including but not limited to sidewalks, patios, park structures, pillars, pavilion pads, and floors.
• Mix or direct the mixing of concrete, spreading concrete to specified depth and workable consistency.
• Properly mix and apply mortars.
• Apply coats of plaster to walls and ceilings, including the preparation of surface, mixing of plaster, application of plaster and erection of scaffolding if needed.
• Smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete floors, walls, and sidewalks to specifications.
• Remove, apply, and repair ceramic tile and other similar solid materials to floors, walls, and ceilings. Including preparation of base, spreading adhesives, cutting and applying material, and final grouting and sealing.
• Operate vehicles and equipment such as Utility Task Vehicles (UTVs), mowers, snowmobiles, trucks, passenger vehicles, tractors, back-hoes and handheld power tools.
• Train, monitor, and supervise permanent and seasonal staff performing routine masonry activities, and ensure tasks are completed according to safety policies, building codes, and procedures.
• Assist with other projects at the facility when masonry work cannot be completed due to poor weather conditions or to support operational needs.

Although the work of the position is periodically inspected by the Park Manager, the incumbent is expected to work with considerable independence as is typical of a craftsperson.
