Duties Description Under the direction of the ITS PS data management manager, Technology Analyst 1 (RAD) will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of data management systems and processes. This role ensures the integrity, security, accessibility, and usability of organizational data, supporting strategic decision-making and operational efficiency. The specialist will work closely with various departments to understand data needs, develop solutions, and enforce data governance policies. The position will research and analyze internal business processes to optimize and automate them using Oracle tools. It will collaborate with business stakeholders and end users to gather and document software requirements, and work closely with developers to design, test, and implement new data management systems and processes.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Executing and Monitoring ETL Jobs:
• Run scheduled ETL jobs using the ODI Console or other scheduling tools.
• Monitor the execution status of ETL jobs, identifying successful runs, failures, and warnings.
• Respond to immediate alerts or notifications regarding job failures.
2. Basic Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:
• Investigate and diagnose common ETL job failures by reviewing ODI logs, error messages, and source/target system logs.
• Perform initial data validation to confirm data discrepancies or errors. * Implement basic fixes for known issues, such as restarting failed jobs or correcting minor data anomalies.
• Escalate complex issues to senior ETL developers or architects with detailed problem descriptions.
3. Supporting Existing ETL Processes:
• Assist in the maintenance of existing ODI mappings, interfaces, procedures, and packages.
• Make minor modifications to existing ETL logic based on documented requirements or under the guidance of senior team members.
• Help with the documentation of existing ETL processes.
4. Data Extraction and Loading Support:
• Assist in configuring ODI data servers and schemas for new or existing data sources.
• Help in developing simple ODI interfaces for data extraction and loading, often following established templates.
• Perform basic data loading tasks into staging areas or target tables.
5. Data Transformation Support:
• Assist in implementing straightforward data transformations as defined by senior developers or business analysts.
• Help in writing and testing basic SQL queries for data manipulation within ODI.
• Understand and apply simple data cleansing and validation rules.
6. Documentation Assistance:
• Assist in documenting ETL processes, data mappings, and transformation rules.
• Help maintain existing documentation and ensure it is up-to-date.
7. Collaboration:
• Work collaboratively with other ETL developers, data analysts, and business users.
• Communicate effectively about task progress, challenges, and findings.
• Attend team meetings and contribute to discussions.
Minimum Qualifications Technology Analyst 1 (All Parenthetics)
Five years* of information technology experience, one of which must be within the
appropriate specialty**.

Technology Analyst 2 (All Parenthetics)
Six years* of information technology experience, one of which must be within the
appropriate specialty**.
*Substitutions: associate’s degree with 15 semester credit hours in computer science or
a related field substitutes for one year of general information technology experience.
Candidates in a bachelor’s degree program with at least 15 semester credit hours in
computer science or a related field can be credited with one year of general information
technology experience.
Bachelor’s degree in any field including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in
computer science or a related field substitutes for three years of general information
technology experience. Any bachelor’s degree substitutes for two years of general
information technology experience.
Master’s degree or higher in computer science or related field substitutes for one
additional year of general information technology experience.
**Specialty includes experience within one or more of the following information
technology disciplines: artificial intelligence, cloud solutions, human centered design,
product management, quality assurance, rapid application development, robotic product
management, geospatial information services.
Additional Comments ITS will not offer permanent employment to any candidate unless the candidate provides documentation that they are authorized to accept work in the United States on a permanent basis. It is the policy of ITS not to hire F1 or H1 visa holders for permanent employment or to sponsor non-immigrant aliens for temporary work authorization visas or for permanent residence.

If eligible, positions located in New York City will receive an additional $3,400 downstate adjustment location pay with regular annual salary. Positions located in the Mid-Hudson will receive an additional $1,650 adjustment location pay.
