Duties Description Under the direction of the Agency Safety and Health Director 2, M-2 for OPRHP’s Health and Safety Bureau, the selected candidate’s duties will include, but not be limited to:
• Answer and direct incoming phone calls, take messages, and respond to basic inquiries.
• Prepare, sort, and distribute incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and internal correspondence.
• Accurately enter and update information into databases and spreadsheets:
o Create and track all scheduled safety training. Ensure that trainings held by outside vendors meet all state financial law requirements.
o Track employee injuries, follow up with regions regarding required reporting information.
• Utilize ITS self-service portal to place trouble tickets, order computer or telephone equipment, and request technical support.
• Schedule and coordinate meetings. Assist in planning annual Health and Safety Conference.
• Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for easy retrieval of information.
• Additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications There are no minimum qualifications per Civil Service.
Additional Comments PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, SharePoint, and WebEx.
• Ability to learn new computer applications.
• Experience managing multiple priorities.
• Ability to communicate with diverse individuals effectively and professionally on varying levels, both within an agency as well as outsize organizations.
OPERATIONAL NEEDS:
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.
