Duties Description Position Information:
The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets has an exciting opportunity to work year-round at the Great New York State Fair! We are looking for a temporary employee to join the Safety Department and help with the State Fair safety operations. This position will perform various manual tasks throughout the fairgrounds that support State Fair operations. Duties may involve ensuring the safety and security of employees, tenants, and visitors by responding to security issues in accordance with policy and procedures; directing event coverage involving multiple locations or times ensuring placard compliance, event payment schematic and traffic management, and proper signage; overseeing management of a daily employee roster and ensuring adequate coverage of parking locations, posts, gates and daily shifts including nights and weekends; performing the full range of administrative supervisory responsibilities; supervising and assisting in maintenance work such as but not limited to putting up required signs, barricades, benches, and grounds maintenance.
The available position is located at the New York State Fairgrounds at 581 State Fair Boulevard, Syracuse, NY. We provide a comfortable working environment with ample free parking.
This is a Labor Class, CSEA-represented position that pays a competitive rate of $27.06 per hour working up to 37.5 hours/week, Monday-Friday. Minimum Qualifications:
Two years of experience supervising subordinate staff in the management of permit and cash parking operations having at least 1,500 spaces OR one year of New York State service as a Senior Parking Services Attendant.

The PSLF Program forgives the remaining balance on your direct loans after you have made 120 qualifying monthly payments under an accepted repayment plan and while working full-time for the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets or another eligible employer.
