Duties Description The Developmental Disabilities Program Specialist 4 (DDPS4) directs the design, support and coordination of multiple community-based services to individuals with developmental disabilities. This DDPS4 has administrative responsibilities . The Area 2 DDPS4 will oversee 20 residences and 2 programs serving a total of approximately 250 individuals within the Dutchess and Ulster County catchment areas. The incumbent will also have oversight of the Recreation Department (3 recreation workers), and 1 night shift DA3, 1 night shift DA2, Float Team: DA3, DA2, and DA1. The DDPS4 provides support to approximately 255 staff within their chain of command (7 subordinate supervisory levels and 41 subordinate supervisors). The incumbent is a key collaborative partner with the support departments/divisions and works closely with the other DDPS4s and the Staffing Department in the district to optimize service delivery and support the workforce in achieving the agency's mission, The DDPS4 reports to Taconic’s Deputy Director. The incumbent will be based in Firemen’s Way, Poughkeepsie, NY.

• Responsible for the management of residential vacancies ensuring that individuals in priority need of services are screened for existing and anticipated vacancies and ensuring that the placement process proceeds actively.
• The incumbent is expected to visit specified homes and program sites weekly, and as needed, and assist in any emergency visits.
• Work collaboratively with Taconic DDSOO’s Quality Improvement Department to ensure all state operated investigations follow regulatory requirements, include appropriate corrective actions, and are completed in a timely manner.
• Collaborates with support departments including Human Resources, Business Office, Safety and Work Control to maximize service delivery and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
• The incumbent is expected to develop strong working relationships with families, union leadership, Willowbrook representatives, the Board of Visitors and others involved with the individuals, within the overall operation of the homes under their supervision, in order to provide optimal services.
• Charged with actively participating as a member of the DDSOO’s leadership team, attends Steering Meetings, chairs assigned committees, and provides effective leadership to the residential teams in the assigned catchment areas.

Minimum Qualifications Promotion:
One year of permanent service in a as a Developmental Disabilities Program Specialist 2, Mental Hygiene Nursing Program Coordinator, Director Nursing 1 Developmental Disabilities, or Treatment Team Leader (Developmental Disabilities) and reachable on the Civil Service eligible list.
Transfer:
Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/c status in the posted title and be eligible for lateral transfer; OR be eligible to transfer via Section 70.1, 70.4, or 52.6 of Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in an advancement of more than two salary grades.

Additional Comments • Please note that starting salary for this title reflects the Mid-Hudson adjustment. Posted Hiring Salary includes the sum of the statutory hiring rate for M/C Grade 63 ($115,283) and Mid-Hudson adjustment ($2,000). Mid-Hudson adjustment is added to the job rate ($145,682).
