Duties Description This position is assigned to the Personnel Bureau, Employee Benefits Unit. Under the supervision and direction of higher-level administrative staff, duties will include but are not limited to:

• Coordinate and hold new-hire orientations and process all associated paperwork.
• Schedule and hold meetings with employees that have filed for retirement to discuss the process, their benefits, and to collect required paperwork.
• Review and process insurance related paperwork, includes tracking to ensure documents are received within the appropriate deadlines.
• Respond to questions, concerns, and issues as they arise.
• Process accrual requests for employees transferring to/from the agency.
• Initialize new or returning employees in LATS.
• Facilitate and monitor worker compensation claims.
• Special projects as assigned.


Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.

Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be qualified for permanent competitive appointment if reachable from the appropriate Civil Service eligible list or eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law.
