Duties Description Under the direction of the Unit Supervisor, employee will be responsible for general facility, park maintenance, and park patrol duties as needed.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Maintain the facilities to ensure a clean and safe environment, which will include light-duty maintenance, sanitizing of facilities, trash removal, and the use of a variety of hand and power-driven mechanical equipment such as mowers, leaf
blowers, trimmers, and snow blowers.
• Assist in ensuring patrons follow park rules and regulations and that grounds are kept clean.
• Operate and perform routine maintenance on a variety of power-driven mechanical equipment including trucks, refuse packers, tractors, mowers and power saws, and self-propelled equipment.
• Load and unload cargo from vehicles and storage areas; perform building, road, and grounds maintenance and restroom cleaning activities
• Support the Division for Historic Preservation programming, including event set-up and break-down
• Clean and check fleet vehicles for basic maintenance.
• Periodically be asked to paint, check drains and assist with moving equipment/furniture or deliveries as needed.
• Complete snow removal by shoveling snow and operating plow vehicles in the winter months.
• Assist in emergency situations by applying emergency practice and procedures, assisting and directing staff ; and assist with traffic control and parking vehicles
• Assist in ensuring patrons follow park rules and regulations and that grounds are kept clean.
• May interact with park patrons to resolve questions and give general direction.
• Performing other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
No minimum qualification per Civil Service.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
NYS Security Guard License is preferred, but not required.

Additional Comments OPERATIONAL NEEDS:
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.
• Applicants must be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays, including 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift.
• Must possess strong organizational and critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently or on a team.
• Ability to perform medium to heavy physical labor, including medium-heavy lifting and using step ladders
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
