Duties Description The New York State Board of Elections (SBOE) oversees the electoral process in New York State. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Data Analytics and AI Specialist for the Public Campaign Finance (PCF) System. This position will play a pivotal role in leveraging data analytics, AI training, and Tableau reporting to enhance the functionality and efficiency of the PCF system.

Responsibilities:
• Lead the data analytics and AI training initiatives for the new Public Campaign Finance system, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including contractors.
• Utilize advanced analytical techniques to derive actionable insights from large datasets, guiding strategic decision-making processes.
• Train and fine-tune AI models to optimize system performance and accuracy in processing campaign finance data.
• Develop custom reports and dashboards using Tableau to visualize key metrics and performance indicators related to campaign finance activities.
• Collaborate with assigned/contracted Project Managers to develop project schedules and deadlines, highlighting potential issues and risks in a timely manner.
• Participate in the acquisition process, vendor evaluation, and selection as required.
• Lead or participate in project governance meetings and activities.
• Implement Quality Assurance (QA) measures, managing testing and defect management activities to ensure system reliability and accuracy.
• Lead the project change control process, providing analysis and recommendations on potential impacts and distinguishing between changes and enhancements.
• Generate or contribute to reports and presentations for project stakeholders, conveying complex analytical findings in an accessible manner.
• Oversee and manage subordinate staff and contractors involved in data analytics, AI training, and Tableau reporting for the PCF system.
• Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for data analytics, AI, and Tableau reporting within the Public Campaign Finance program.
• Coordinate with internal and external entities on integration requirements of the system, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability.
• Collaborate with the SBOE Infrastructure team and vendors to establish, document, and test operational procedures required for ongoing operation and maintenance of the new PCF system.
• Work with the SBOE Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and the Secure Elections Center team to ensure adherence to security procedures and regulations.
• Participate in software architecture review and change control processes, minimizing negative impacts of changes on the PCF environment.
• Assist in the development of end-user training and support materials, including coordination of required Help Desk activities.
• Analyze and incorporate any new or modified PCF-related statutes and regulations in collaboration with SBOE executive management and PCF program management, including counsel.
• Work closely with the SBOE Public Information Office (PIO) and PCF program management on the development and implementation of relevant public-facing presence, including website or web content development.



















Minimum Qualifications A bachelor’s degree plus four (4) years of relevant experience. *
*Substitutions: four years of specialized experience or associate’s degree and two years of specialized experience may substitute for bachelor’s degree; J.D. or master’s degree may substitute for one year of specialized experience; Ph.D. may substitute for two years of specialized experience.
