Duties Description Are you ready to start your Social Work career with New York State? Capital District Psychiatric Center is recruiting for Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) for their Crisis Intervention Unit. Evening and overnight shift positions are available.

Duties include:

• Completing psychiatric assessments with a Physician to determine if the individual would benefit from inpatient psychiatric hospitalization.
• Providing verbal de-escalation and participating in interventions as needed.
• Triaging phone calls and providing telephonic crisis response.
• Securing inpatient bed for individuals in need and facilitating transfers.
• Working with insurance companies to gain preauthorization for inpatient hospitalization.
• Connecting individuals to outpatient services at the time of discharge.
• Assisting in training and orientation of new staff and/or interns.

Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (NY HELPS) program if they are licensed and currently registered by New York State as a Licensed Master Social Worker.
OR
Candidates within State Service can be considered transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Additional Comments LMSWs are eligible for shift differential pay
• 7% for evening and weekend day shifts
• 10% for night shifts
