Duties Description Job duties include:
• Work with division and regional staff to respond to comments and questions received on all social media platforms and agency inbox
• Assist unit leader in writing and planning of social media content
• Assist with the research of social media trends
• Assist with the collection of data and graphics for social media posts
• Assists with review, proofreading, and correction of social media submitted by agency staff
• Travel to statewide events for social media coverage
• Assist in gathering data and writing monthly and annual social media reports
• Assist in the planning, creation, and execution of statewide social media presentations and training
• Assist in the management of the social media calendar
• Assist in the writing of alt text copy for accessibility
Preferred Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in best practices and engagement with major social media platforms.

Minimum Qualifications Four years of experience in public relations, social media and digital communications.
Substitution: Associates, bachelors or masters degree in Communications, English, Public Relations, Social Media, Digital Communications or a similar degree substitutes for two, four or five years.
*55-b/55-c Candidates must meet the non-competitive minimum qualifications above and include with their resume or application, a copy of the letter from Civil Service which indicates approval for the 55-b/55-c program.
Additional Comments Travel may be required.
Overtime may be required.
Telecommuting may be available, will be discussed at interview.

For new State employees appointed to graded positions, the annual salary is the hiring rate (beginning of the Salary Range) of the position. Promotion salaries are calculated by the NYS Office of the State Comptroller in accordance with NYS Civil Service Law, OSC Payroll rules and regulations and negotiated union contracts.
