Minimum Qualifications Current New York State employee with one year of permanent or contingent-permanent service as an Administrative Aide (G-13); or one year of permanent or contingent-permanent service in a title allocated to G-11 or above eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Preferred Qualifications: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in a professional manner; manage multiple activities and meet deadlines; detail oriented with strong organizational skills; and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The preferred candidate will also have a high level of competence using the following computer programs: Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, 365, Outlook, Adobe Pro, and Share Point

Duties Description A Program Aide is needed to provide administrative support to Security and Emergency Services. Security Officers provide a safe work environment while preserving the integrity of public health specimens. SES provide 24/7 coverage, duties entail monitoring closed circuit tv, security systems & alarms; scheduled patrols; validating visitor access; responding to incidents; maintaining security access/incident records; evacuating buildings during emergencies/drills; inspecting/receiving specimens including critical agents, infectious diseases, nuclear & chemical samples during non-business hours. The incumbent in this position will perform a variety of tasks relating to the administration and operation of public safety and security. Duties include but are not limited to maintaining and updating records; maintaining and ordering supplies; updating sharepoint; reviewing policies; issuing badges; issuing and tracking trainings; and acting as point of contact for SES.

Additional Comments Dependent upon the initial assignment or subsequent reassignment of this position satisfactory background checks may be required. Additionally, exposure to potentially hazardous substances may be involved with this position; the selected candidate may be required to wear personal protective clothing and equipment, and may undergo pre-employment and/or periodic health evaluations and receive specific immunizations.
