Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must currently be 70.1 Transfer Eligible within two grades as determined by Civil Service
OR
2. Must be active and reachable on the Civil Service Eligible List for Nutrition Services Administrator 1
Candidates must maintain current certification in New York State as a Certified Dietitian/Nutritionist AND maintain current registration with Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Academy membership is highly recommended.
Simultaneous to this posting the appropriate civil service list may be canvassed. Management reserves the right to select either an eligible respondent to this posting or appoint from the Civil Service list.

Experience in supervision or knowledge of effective supervisory practices.

Ability to formulate and implement nutrition care plans
Ability to work collaboratively and congenially within and among interdisciplinary treatment teams and other Agency-wide committees.

Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION:
As a Nutrition Services Administrator 1 you would organize and direct the clinical dietetic programs and oversee dietetic services in community-based residential settings.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Incumbents supervise professional Dietitians; assist in developing food service policies and procedures relating to residential treatment and care; develop and participate in quality assurances and improvement practices related to nutrition services; plan for the nutritional and dietetic needs of a specialized population by providing balanced diets that specifically address each individual’s needs; serve as nutrition services liaison and educator for medical, clinical, administrative, residential and program staff as well as local voluntary agencies on subjects related to nutrition services as requested; and serve as an administrative and clinical liaison for the community-based program.
Applicants must have the ability to work independently and with groups, possessing excellent organizational, time management and communication skills. Willing to assist in management of all aspects of provision of Nutrition Services Discipline. Willing to travel within Region 2 as needed in performance of duties. Assist in supervision of departmental staff; may include completion of performance evaluations, TIMES, travel vouchers, clinical audits and/or FMS Region 2 menus. Assist NSA2 in ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations and in developing policies, procedures and quality assurance indicators related to departmental operations. Assist in developing training programs in response to agency needs. May serve on agency committees. May work with administrative, clinical and/or direct care professionals on interdisciplinary projects. Maintain a clinical caseload as requested based on departmental needs. Additional tasks as requested by NSA2.
