Duties Description The Office of Mental Health (OMH) is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a Research Scientist 3, Grade 25, position in the Office of the Chief Medical Officer, Office of Population Health & Evaluation, Bureau of Program Research & Evaluation. The Research Scientist 3 supports the Bureau of Program Research and Evaluation which is responsible for developing and maintaining a systematic research-based approach to evaluating OMH programs and initiatives.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Oversee and conduct planning and coordination with other stakeholders including federal and state agencies, other states, external researchers, providers and OMH oversight
• Oversee quantitative and qualitative data collection and quality assurance protocols for evaluation purposes including coordination with personnel from CCBHC program sites and CCBHC program oversight, technical assistance and stakeholders.
• Design and implement analytic strategies using quantitative statistical and qualitative methodology.
• Conduct qualitative analyses and written reporting.
• Conduct quantitative analyses using SAS.
• Design and implement data flows and visualizations using Tableau.
• Prepare and present evaluation findings to program stakeholders.
• Prepare reports, research papers, reviews and summaries for program and external stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications This is a full-time, non-competitive position. The minimum qualifications for appointment to a Research Scientist 3 position are a bachelor’s degree and four years of professional research experience in an appropriate field OR a master’s degree and three years of professional research experience in an appropriate field. A Ph.D. in an appropriate field may substitute for an additional year of experience. Appropriate fields include Biostatistics, Economics, Epidemiology, Public Health, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, or a related social science field.
