Duties Description ITS provides operational support to state agencies on a 24x7x365 basis; some positions may be required to provide this critical service at any time.

Under the direction of a senior program manager, the IES Developer will be assigned to the Integrated Eligibility System (IES) within the Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) and will focus on the creation of software applications within IES. The incumbent will build, test, and deploy scalable web services, ensuring high-quality code and optimal performance across various platforms, and will participate in the strategy, direction, and execution of all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle. This role will work with Developers, App Leads, DevOps, Architects, and other teams across ITS adhering to industry, state, and federal standards, ensuring that the IES applications are integrated efficiently with state and local systems.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following;
• Design, develop, and maintain web-based applications from concept to deployment.
• Develop and maintain robust, scalable back-end services and APIs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and other developers to meet project milestones.
• Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and security across mobile and desktop devices.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems to ensure high-quality software output.
• Maintain and upgrade applications following deployment.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.



Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

Four (4) years of hands-on, professional experience in building software applications employing server-side language such as Python, Ruby .NET, Java Node.js as well as experience with database technologies such as MSSQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB
.
A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field may substitute for 2 years of experience.
A Master’s degree in computer science ore related field may substitute for an additional year of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with front-end development in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks (i.e., React, Angular, Vue.js)
• Experience with cloud platforms (i.e., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
• Knowledge of containerization tools such as Docker
• Experience building responsive, user-friendly interfaces using modern front-end frameworks
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills and teamwork abilities
