Duties Description Incumbent will be responsible for the construction, maintenance, and repair of the following systems:

-Potable water systems both inside buildings/structures and underground facilities.
This includes well systems (pumps, filtering, chlorination, piping, distribution, etc.).

- Sewer and waste systems , both inside buildings/structures and underground facilities. This includes traditional septic systems (tank and leach field).

-Propane systems, both inside buildings/structures and underground facilities. This includes gas services, propane tanks, distribution piping, and end-use appliances (e.g., Water heaters, stoves, and furnaces).

Duties will include but are not limited to:

• Work from verbal or written descriptions or drawings and sketches, estimate labor and materials needed, obtain quotes from vendors and maintain records

• Work with various types of pipes (copper, PVC, CPVC, cast, black iron, galvanized, HDPE, etc.)

• Assemble materials, tools, and equipment required for projects

• Perform building winterization and start up as required annually

• Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of associated tools and equipment as assigned and will order supplies and equipment as needed

• Work independently or as a team; communicate effectively with supervisor

• Identify and communicate potential issues, safety concerns, or routine maintenance needs with management and colleagues as necessary and repairing when applicable

• Supervise and instruct others in construction and repair of plumbing systems, associated equipment including the safe use and maintenance of large and small equipment

• Perform snow removal

• Perform grounds keeping and landscaping duties as needed including road and trail maintenance, mowing and weed whacking, and building maintenance and repairs

Minimum Qualifications Four years of full-time experience in a trade under a skilled tradesperson which would provide training equivalent to that given in a training, apprenticeship, or equivalent program; or an equivalent combination of experience and training gained by completion of technical courses in skilled trades at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services. When required to operate motor vehicles, candidates must possess a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated.

Additional Comments This is a hourly appointment currently funded through 11/30/2026, with a likelihood of continuing beyond that date. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date.

Actual work schedule, duties and travel requirements may vary and will be discussed at the interview.

Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position.
Use of personal protection equipment, including a respirator, will be required.
Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain.
Must be able to work in remote areas.
Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions.
Weekends and holidays may be required.
Must be available to respond to after-hours emergencies.
Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
