Duties Description Employee Health Service (EHS) is responsible for medical examination services, including pre-employment, fitness-for-duty / return-to-work, and occupational health examinations, for all New York State departments and agencies. In addition, Health Service Nurses perform occupational health screening and immunization services throughout the State. This position will play an important role in helping to ensure the health and safety of employees throughout New York State agencies.

The Coordinator, Employee Health Services position will be located at Employee Health Service (EHS) in Cohoes, NY. This position will oversee daily administrative operations of the occupational medicine office ensuring continuity of operations, assisting with project implementation, and handling day-to-day workflow logistics. The individual in this position would report directly to the Administrator Employee Health Services.

• Manage EHS administrative staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations
• Oversee the implementation and day-to-day operation of the EHS computer system focusing primarily on data collection and input activities that support EHS monthly billing and revenue collection activities.
• Implement policies developed by Administrative Director and Deputy Commissioner.
• Oversee medical records management and ensure compliance with privacy regulations and laws.
• Manage FOILS for EHS in conjunction with Counsel’s Office.
• Provide executive-level support to the medical director and leadership team.
• Manage correspondence, prepare reports, and handle confidential information.
• Oversee Statewide Financial Systems for division.
• Designated as superuser for Electronic Medical Record System (EMR), including assisting in build, attends daily go-live meetings, updates tip sheets, logs and tracks issues
• Assist with billing processes through EMR and budget management.
• Conducts in-services and trainings as a subject matter expert, for current and future employees on use of EMR.
• Responsible for communicating all EMR details between ITS, DSC and EMR when needed
• Liaison for all technological needs (phones, computers and other projects) and equipment for statewide EHS locations.
• Serve as the onboarding specialist, conducting department orientations, processing PR documentation, coordinating with HR, and managing new hire documentation.

Minimum Qualifications OPEN COMPETITIVE QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree and four years of experience* or associate degree and six years of experience, in the administration of one or more of the following: hospital, health care facility, or ambulatory service/clinic, or community health program, or occupational health program, or countywide or statewide health program. One year of the experience must have been at a supervisory level.

*Substitutions: A J.D. or master’s degree in the experience areas listed may substitute for one year of general experience; or a Ph.D. in the experience areas listed may substitute for two years of general experience.

52.6 TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS:
One year of permanent, contingent permanent, or 55 B/C service in a title eligible for transfer and determined to be similar by Civil Service.

55 B/C QUALIFICATIONS:
Individuals certified eligible for the 55 B/C program under the Governor's Program to Hire Persons/Veterans with Disabilities pursuant to Section 55 B/C of the Civil Service Law will also be considered. To be considered, you must provide a copy of your letter of eligibility with your response.
