Duties Description About Our Office

Zellnor Y. Myrie is a Democratic New York State Senator serving the 20th District, including Crown Heights, East Flatbush, Park Slope, Prospect Heights, Prospect Lefferts Gardens, Windsor Terrace, and Kensington. Throughout his time in the State Legislature, Senator Myrie has championed policies that advance equity and justice in areas such as voting rights, criminal legal reform, gun safety, and affordable housing.

About Your Role:

As Director of Operations, you will report directly to the Chief of Staff and serve as a key member of the Senator’s senior team. You will manage the overall operations of the Office, with special responsibility for overseeing and maintaining the Senator’s and office’s daily and long-term schedules. You will serve as the primary gatekeeper of the Senator’s time, exercising sound judgment and foresight to anticipate needs and proactively address potential challenges.

Your Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

•Manage and oversee the Senator’s and office’s daily, weekly, and long-term schedules to ensure efficient coordination of meetings, events, and priorities
•Oversee operations of the Brooklyn District Office, ensuring smooth communication and workflow between staff and leadership
•Review, organize, and process all meeting and event requests, ensuring completeness of information and timely briefings for the Senator
•Work closely with the Chief of Staff and other senior staff to align the Senator’s scheduling priorities with legislative and district objectives
•Coordinate logistics for travel, community events, and official engagements
•Develop and maintain systems for scheduling, recordkeeping, and office efficiency
•Liaise with external partners, community organizations, and other government offices to support collaboration and constituent engagement
•Support coordination between the Brooklyn and Albany offices to ensure consistency in communication, planning, and execution
•Maintain a professional, welcoming, and organized office environment that reflects the Senator’s values and commitment to public service
