Duties Description Summary:
A full-time grounds worker position working Tuesday through Saturday, with Sunday and Monday days off, 6:00 AM-2:30 PM. During winter and summer months this position returns to Monday through Friday with Saturday and Sunday pass-days. In the winter, the position may work 4:00 AM to 12:30 PM, or 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, or 6am to 2:30 pm depending on operational need and seniority within the department.

Major Responsibilities:
• Maintain the appearance and condition of grounds by sweeping, raking, and shoveling debris.
• Plant seeds, shrubs, and trees.
• Cut grass, trim shrubs, and fertilize lawns.
• Remove dead trees and load trucks.
• Maintain roads, parking lots, walkways, and steps.
• Break up concrete and asphalt and apply patch.
• Maintain athletic fields.
• Assist with snow removal during winter months. Comprises 80-90% of the job and hand shoveling represents a significant portion of snow removal.
Minimum Qualifications Must have a valid drivers license at time of hire.
Applicant will be required to obtain a NYS commercial pesticide technician license within twelve (12) months of appointment.
