Duties Description This position will function as CRM/Database Administrator for the New York State Board of Elections (SBOE). Reporting to the Senior CRM/Database Administrator, this position will assist in all database and tenant operational activities including implementation, integration, operation, monitoring, support, tuning and enhancement of the system.
In this role, a candidate would be expected to:
•
Participate with shareholders and applicable contractors in the analysis and requirements gathering process for SBOE applications as they relate to system requirements
•
Be responsible for performing or overseeing the design, modeling, and implementation of new CRM system environments and data modeling per specifications developed as part of the requirements gathering process, including key data elements, relationships, indexes, etc.

Coordinate with internal and external entities on any integration requirements of the system, both initial establishment and on-going operation
•
Assist Senior Database Administrator in all aspects of on-going operation, monitoring, support, tuning and enhancement of the environment
•
Develop and maintain detailed technical procedures and documentation for implementation, operation, monitoring, maintenance, support, security, and enhancement of the environment
•
Work with the SBOE Infrastructure team and any applicable vendors to establish, document and test operational procedures required for on-going operation and maintenance of the environment including disaster recovery, performance monitoring, patching, etc.
•
Work with the SBOE Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and the Secure Elections Center team to establish, document and test security procedures for the environment, ensuring adherence to all applicable policies and regulations.
•
Analyze software updates and patches from vendors to determine their potential impact on existing operations
•
Participate in software architecture review and change control processes and works with all necessary parties to minimize the negative impact of changes on the environment
•
Assist with the deployment of additional applications into both on-premise and cloud-based environments
•
Be responsible for maintaining additional technology while performing data migration and retention from our Microsoft SQL database into Salesforce, which will allow the sunset of the legacy applications
•
Work with applicable staff and vendors in diagnosing incidents, performing Root Cause Analysis of system issues, documenting findings and implementing of sound solutions.
Minimum Qualifications • Experience as a Salesforce Administrator or CRM Administrator with working knowledge of Salesforce setup, configuration, and security.
• Experience supporting CRM systems in a public sector, government, or regulated
environment.
• Familiarity with data migration, data quality, and integration tools.
• Excellent documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to coordinate technical solutions across multiple teams and vendors.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Salesforce Administrator Certification (ADM-201) or higher (Advanced Administrator,
Platform App Builder).
• Experience with Salesforce Experience Cloud, Service Cloud, or custom app development.
• Familiarity with MuleSoft, Tableau CRM (CRM Analytics), or data warehouse tools like BigQuery or Redshift.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including SQL scripting and data management.
• Knowledge of NYS cybersecurity standards or experience working in an election or public integrity-related environment.
