Duties Description ITS provides operational support to state agencies on a 24x7x365 basis; some positions may be required to provide this critical service at any time.

Under the direction of the Deputy Commissioner of Technology for DMV, the Enterprise IT Architect Lead for DMV will be responsible for the oversight of developing, implementing, and maintenance of the organization's IT architecture. This position collaborates with various IT teams and business stakeholders to ensure that IT solutions align with the overall enterprise architecture strategy and business objectives. The Enterprise IT Architect Lead for DMV will contribute to the design, review, and governance of IT systems, ensuring security, scalability, and efficiency.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
• Assisting in the development and maintenance of architecture blueprints and roadmaps.
• Implementing architecture standards and guidelines across IT projects.
• Implementing security best practices in architecture designs.
• Coordinating with stakeholders to ensure adherence to architecture principles.
• Developing solution architectures for specific projects, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture.
• Coordinating with development teams to ensure correct implementation of architecture.
• Managing the review and approval of solution architecture designs.
• Implementing containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Developing and maintaining AI ethics guidelines and policies.
• Implementing AI governance frameworks to ensure responsible AI development and deployment.
• Overseeing the assessment of AI systems for bias and fairness.
• Assisting with cloud migration projects, ensuring secure and efficient transitions.
• Developing automation scripts for cloud infrastructure management.
• Contributing to data analytics strategies to support digital transformation initiatives.
• Overseeing the creation of data visualizations and reports.
• Participating in change management activities related to IT architecture changes.
• Documenting and maintaining enterprise architecture artifacts (e.g., application portfolios, integration diagrams, architecture principles, and roadmaps).
• Oversight of the Enterprise Architecture Team including full range of supervisory duties.

Minimum Qualifications Open to NYS employees with one year of permanent competitive service as a Manager Information Technology Services 2, SG29/M3, OR in a position at the SG27/M2 level or higher deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in advancement of more than two salary grades or one M-grade.

If eligible, positions located in New York City will receive an additional $3,400 downstate adjustment location pay with regular annual salary. Positions located in the Mid-Hudson will receive an additional $1,650 adjustment location pay.
