Duties Description A wide range of skill-based knowledge, tools, and specific techniques are required. Advanced knowledge of SQL, Access, claims, external audits, and the DAR/FAR process are a required component of this job. At least one year of supervisory experience.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Work closely with the RAC contractor on a daily basis and monitor and approve all aspects of the DAR/FAR process
• Assist in RAC scenario approvals and vetting throughout the agency
• Oversee the vetting of providers and Managed Care Plans, and train staff in this process
• Create weekly reports for the RAC contractor for all open projects
• Supervise and train RAC staff
• Work with the RAC Manager to plan, schedule, monitor workload, and track status of all work assigned and completed within the RAC unit
• Use SQL Developer to run queries to verify claim data to be recovered under the scope of the RAC contract. Must have an advanced understanding and knowledge of SQL and Access as well as eMedNY provider and claims screens.
• Must have experience in communicating with contractors, other divisions, and the provider community
• Assist in completing weekly/monthly/quarterly, and annual reports for the unit
• Assist with special assignments when needed
• Verify and analyze OSC methodologies
• Maintain tracking databases for the RAC unit
Minimum Qualifications You must be current NYS employee serving in a title deemed eligible for transfer to this title under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law or eligible under the 55 b/c program.
This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS).
It is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. While serving permanently in a NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified.
Non-Competitive Minimum Qualifications for appointment under the NY HELPS Program: Possession of a bachelor’s degree including or supplemented by nine semester credits in statistics, biostatistics, economics, econometrics, mathematics, research methods, data analysis, data science, or data modeling PLUS THREE YEARS of professional* research experience in the collection and evaluation of quantitative data directed toward review and analysis of program operations.
*Professional research experience cannot be part of your degree requirements. You must clearly demonstrate how you meet the supplemental coursework and degree requirements for this examination. Include the name of the college or university, course title, date received, and number of semester credits received per course in the "coursework" section of the online application. If applying with a paper application, you may attach a copy of your transcripts for verification of coursework and degree requirements.
Experience limited to general, non-professional research tasks (for example, legal citation research, bibliographical research, or incidental research functions as part of a non-research job) will NOT be considered qualifying.
