Duties Description The incumbent to this position would be responsible for, but not limited to the following:

• Prepare and process vouchering transactions for submittal to the Office of the State Comptroller for payment. This requires mathematical calculations, knowledge of the program area, and entry into multiple Financial Systems and Spreadsheets.
• Obtain information from various sources for the calculation and processing of documentation.
• Review unit or department financial forms for conformance with approved spending for refunds.
• Review reports as account clerical audits for numerous programs and a variety of transactions, verifications, checks and computations.
• Liaison with facility staff, control agencies, applicants, customers and other stakeholders regarding payment status and issues via mail, email, telephone, etc.
• Organize, log, scan, and upload relevant documentation into multiple software, database, and spreadsheet systems. Ensure proper filing and storage of this documentation.
• Reconcile and cross-check unclaimed funds and other notifications to determine, recommend, and enact appropriate action.
• Reconcile money received with value of receipts or License/Permits issued.
• Perform account clerical audits for programs in which there are a large number and variety of transactions, verifications, checks, and computations, and where the written procedures are changed frequently.
• Compile and prepare financial data for budgetary purposes.
• Engage multiple systems and applications to prepare, process, review and track transactions across both intra- and inter-agency frameworks, including customer-facing interactive technologies.
• Research, generate, and review reports using multiple fact-gathering methods across varied systems to produce daily, weekly, quarterly, and yearly reports on a variety of financial transactions in a time sensitive environment.
• Other duties as needed/assigned.

Minimum Qualifications This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS)* and applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications to be considered for this position:

Applicants must possess one year of experience, with primary responsibility performing mathematical operations and/or clerical activities related to mathematical operations.

Applicants may also be appointed to this position if currently reachable on the appropriate eligible list for this title OR are a current New York State employee with one year or more of qualifying permanent service in a position allocated to a Grade 7 or above and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

NOTE: IN ORDER TO AWARD THE PROPER CREDIT FOR WORK EXPERIENCE, RESUMES MUST INCLUDE MONTH AND YEAR FOR START AND END DATES. IF ANY OF THIS EXPERIENCE IS LESS THAN FULL TIME YOU MUST INDICATE THE AVERAGE NUMBER OF HOURS WORKED PER WEEK.
