Duties Description This position is in the Executive Offices of the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation. The position is responsible for day-to day operations of the office; including, but not limited to, the scheduling of meetings, coordinating and processing Executive Office travel, and phone and electronic email monitoring. This position works as part of a team to provide sufficient office coverage and administrative support to the Commissioner and all Executive Staff.

Minimum Qualifications Non-Competitive Qualifications:

High school diploma or high school equivalency diploma; and three years of experience in administrative support, which includes use of office software (e.g., email, word processing), provision of customer service, business writing, and management of an office. Certification (e.g., IAAP Certified Administrative Professional), diploma, or associate’s degree in office administration, secretarial science, administrative assistance, paralegal business technology, or office technology substitutes for two years of experience.

Additional Comments The candidate for this position must work well under pressure, be a self-starter, maintain confidentiality, and possess excellent communication and organizational skills. Experience with Microsoft Excel and good typing/computer skills are required. The ideal candidate should also be tech savvy and proficient with various virtual meeting platforms.
