Duties Description The Research Scientist 8 will will serve as the Director of Psychiatric Research at New York State Psychiatric Institute.

Specific responsibilities as director would include, but not be limited to:
• providing leadership and direction for the scientific activities of the independent research scientists
• assisting and advising the division’s research scientists in the preparation and revision of the grant proposals that support the Division’s research activities
working with the division’s administrators and the NKI HR office to ensure timely completion of all personnel-related forms and filings for updating salaries, job descriptions and promotions
• leading efforts to hire new personnel, both technical and professional, when appropriate.
• seeking federal and foundation funding for the studies

Minimum Qualifications PHD and nine years of professional experience, including specific research and teaching assignments in an appropriate field
