Duties Description The Psychiatrist 2 at Rochester Psychiatric Center will:
• Train and supervise residents in safe and appropriate administration of psychiatric care
• Provide primary psychiatric care to patients
• Respond to urgent or emergency clinical issues
• Collaborate with other health care professionals to achieve treatment goals and ensure continuity and quality of care
• Assess and refer individuals for admission, transfer, discharge, and further treatment
• Review and maintain medical records and documentation consistent with facility, agency, State, and federal guidelines
• Serve as members of a multidisciplinary treatment team

Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (HELPS) program if they have a license and current registration to practice medicine in New York State AND certification in general psychiatry by the ABPN.

OR

Candidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Additional Comments Psychiatrists at OMH facilities are eligible for:
• Psychiatrist Loan Repayment Program offering up to $120,000
• Supplemental income of up to 50% of salary by volunteering to provide evening, night, and weekend coverage

3. License and Certification: Loss of license or limited permit to practice medicine in New York State or board certification, if required, may result in removal from your position.
