Minimum Qualifications Permanent Transfer Candidates: One year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent competitive service at or above a G21 and eligible for transfer via Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.

NY HELPS (non-competitive): Seven years of experience where your primary duty was performing two of the five activites below:

Health services research and analysis of health care systems resources, beds, services allocations, or processes of care.
Demographic or economic analysis for projecting need for health care facilities and services.
Analysis of health care resources, staffing needs, usage patterns, health services quality, or patterns of clinical care.
Health care policy development and analysis on a statewide, regional, or county basis.
Preparation or review of CON applications in a State regulated health care facility or governmental agency.

Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of the Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias and related stakeholder community. Experience with programmatic and fiscal oversight, monitoring of contracts and the request for application (RFA) process. Strong analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal. The ability to think creatively and strategically. The ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments. Proficient in the use of standard office technology and basic Microsoft applications, including Microsoft Excel. The capability to travel within NYS as needed.

Duties Description Qualified and motivated individuals will report to the Director of the Bureau of Community Integration and Alzheimer’s Disease. The incumbent will play an integral role in the Alzheimer’s Disease Program. The position will lead projects focused on some of New York’s most vulnerable residents. Lead/participate in creating meeting content for the NYS Coordinating Council for Alzheimer’s Disease and Other Dementias. The incumbent will provide oversight on contracts for the Centers of Excellence for Alzheimer’s Disease (CEADs) and the Alzheimer’s Disease Caregiver Support Initiative (ADCSI.) Initiate program integrity activities related to fiscal planning, and quality assurance. Additionally, the incumbent will provide supervision to professional positions with expertise in Alzheimer’s disease carrying out related functions; engage in responding to state and federal reporting requirements; and support the Bureau Director, including representation at meetings and in their absence. This position also involves liaison roles with other key function areas in the Department of Health, NYS Office for the Aging, Money Follows the Person (MFP) and the Office of Health Insurance Programs. Other duties as assigned and directed by the Bureau Director and Center Director and Deputy Director to develop and implement Medicaid Redesign and budget initiatives to meet Unit, Bureau, and Center goals.
