Minimum Qualifications There are no Civil Service minimum qualifications. Qualifications for each seasonal position are based on operating needs and vary based on the assigned work location and job title.

Duties Description Under the supervision of higher-level personnel, duties will include:
• Assisting with a wide range of museum and grounds maintenance, cleaning and additional tasks as needed.
• Groundswork could include, but is not limited to, tasks such as mowing, trimming and raking of lawns; maintenance and improvement of trails, landscape, decorative plantings, signage, viewing platforms, archaeological features/historic structure remains; and trash removal. Cleaning will include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and dusting of all museum public and staff spaces and restrooms.
• Additional tasks may include running errands, tracking, ordering and obtaining supplies.
• Setting up special equipment.
• Oversight of the parking lot or program areas during special events as needed.

Additional Comments OPERATING NEEDS:
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.
• Applicant must have a strong work ethic and be able to effectively communicate with site staff.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Ability to read equipment manuals, instructional materials and agency documents.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays and occasional evenings.
• Basic maintenance experience and familiarity with the operation of maintenance equipment.
The position requires work on some weekend days and may occasionally entail schedule adjustment to assist with evening or other after-hours special events.
