Minimum Qualifications There are no education or experience requirements. Applicants must be physically able to perform medium to heavy physical labor. When required to operate motor vehicles, candidates must possess a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated. Applicants must also be able to communicate effectively with other staff and with park patrons.
Duties Description Under the supervision of the Park Manager or their designee, the incumbents will perform or assist with routine cleaning and housekeeping work which will include, but is not limited to:
• Clean facility buildings, cabins, cottages, and other facilities and structures as assigned;
• Sweeping/vacuuming/mopping floors, window washing, trash and recycling removal, and dusting;
• Interact with the public in a professional and courteous manner;
• Assist in the training of seasonal staff with respect to departmental tasks;
• May be required to assist other operational departments as assigned, which may include, but not be limited to: entrance fees at toll booths, assisting with basic maintenance work such as painting projects, or assisting with grounds work;
• May handle complaints or inquiries from park patrons.
• May supervise a small crew of seasonal staff as needed.
Additional Comments OPERATIONAL NEEDS:
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.
• Must be available to work a variable schedule that will include seasonal pass day changes, holidays and/or weekends.
• Must be reliable, flexible, and willing to work in a team setting.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with other staff and park patrons in a responsible and courteous manner under stressful conditions.
