POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Business Officer 1 (BO1) is an active member of the Business Office Management team, responsible to assist with the administrative duties of the office as required to maintain a productive work environment.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties include but are not limited to:

Accounts Payable Unit - Supervision and oversight of staff responsible for processing vendor payments. Obtain authorization to pay invoices from field staff for invoices received for various goods and services. Determine the best method for processing payments for agency expenditures by utilizing SFS Esettlements, direct payments or a state issued credit card as appropriate.

Candidate must possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

Will oversee and assist with tasks related to Accounts Payable review and approval, to include:
• OGS HBITS billings.
• Processing Interagency billings including JVs, and Billing Vouchers.
• AC909s and AC1286s completions and submittal.
• Utility and Tax payment processing.
• Contract Management Unit liaison for Agency contract payments.
• Review and approve Capital Funding project payments.
• Review and approve non-employee travel reimbursements.

Shall provide supervision and training to subordinate staff in Accounts Payable to ensure compliance with established guidelines.

Develop and maintain an effective working relationship with program and administrative organizations.

Assist in the completion of agency specific reports and/or audits, by acquiring necessary information from the appropriate source in a timely manner.
This position requires use of SFS, SharePoint and Microsoft Teams, and proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite.
Complete assignments as directed by appropriate supervisory staff and established deadlines.
Must complete all mandatory trainings required for NYS OPWDD employees and ensure that training record follows agency regulations.
