Minimum Qualifications ·Possession of a license and current registration to practice medicine in New York State and six years of post-licensure medical practice experience, two years of which must have been in an administrative or supervisory capacity.

Duties Description ·Will provide operational oversight and technical guidance in support of day-to-day functions that includes support and consultation for State
Operations Directors, Medical Directors, clinical, medical and health services staff across Regions 1 and 2.
·Serve as part of the ITO Governing Bodies and the Regional leadership teams.
·Caseload coverage to be split between the Valley Ridge CIT and the Finger Lakes LIT.
·Travel across Regions 1 and 2 will be expected. Details to be discussed at interview.
·Will assist with discharge planning of individuals from and to State Operated settings, especially in terms of medical and mental health care needs. May take part in discharge planning meetings as needed to assist in rendering decisions regarding admissions and discharges to State Operated residential facilities.
·Utilize data to improve access, quality, and treatment outcomes for special populations. Will provide recommendations to regional leadership regarding development of needed systems and placement opportunities.
·Assist State Operations to achieve optimal outcomes through a focus on appropriate treatment,
·Provide expert clinical consultation to state-operated programs in conjunction with the local Medical Directors, Directors of Nursing, and /or other Subject Matter Experts.
·May assist in conducting case conferences and educational sessions to medical/clinical staff to present information on complex cases and treatment strategies.
·Provide input and guidance in response to investigations and recommendations from the Mortality Review committee, the NYS Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs, and the Office of Investigations and Internal Affairs.
·Assist with ensuring regulatory compliance with all laws, rules and regulations governing Intermediate Care Facilities.
·Provide technical assistance in responding to NYS Department of Health surveys and citations.
·Support the use of the Electronic Health Record by having an active role in its utilization, reviewing, and analyzing data to identify opportunities across the Regions.
·Provide technical guidance and training to medical staff that ensures consistency of operations across the state.
·Oversee the management of activities related to the delivery of medical care and clinical services such as cost management, utilization review, quality assurance and medical protocol development.
·Coordinate meetings with medical staff to review statewide policy and practices and provide training as needed or requested.
·Evaluate practices and protocols and recommend changes in procedures to ensure high quality care for the individuals served.
·Provide the DDSOO Directors with guidance related to end-of-life decision making and MOLST Checklists.
·Ensure a physical assessment of all new admissions to ITOs and community based ICF settings.
·Assist in the oversight of medically related contracts and/or providers (Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, Dental, etc.)
·Serve as Medic on Call, providing region-wide coverage on a rotational basis.
