Minimum Qualifications OVERVIEW

The Climate Smart Facilities intern will support the Palisades Region in the assessment and mapping of infrastructure to assess threats from climate change impacts and develop resiliency plans.
-Interns work 10-20 hours per week.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Candidates must be a current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in environmental studies, GIS, or similar discipline.
• Candidates must have expertise with GPS/GIS and be able to collect data independently in a variety of conditions

Duties Description JOB DUTIES

• With Regional Staff, develop a list of infrastructure potentially threatened by climate change including, but not limited to, culverts, bridges, power lines/poles, buildings, drainage swales, spillways, foundations, and walkways.
• Using GIS, survey the elements of the list and develop a geodatabase that includes location, condition information, photographs, and other info as desired.
• Analyze data and develop reports as need to assist in the preparation of a resiliency plan for the region’s infrastructure
