Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications Must be reachable on current Motor Equipment Mechanic, SG-12 list or currently hold the title of Motor Equipment Mechanic, SG-12 or a title from which transfer is appropriate.

Duties Description Perform skilled mechanical work in automotive repair shops in the maintenance, repair and overhaul of gasoline and diesel powered self propelled and non self propelled motor driven equipment, and as well, may perform routine maintenance and mechanical repairs on disabled vehicles, construction and other equipment in the field.

Additional Comments OPERATIONAL NEEDS: 6:30A.M. – 3:00 P.M Monday through Friday. This is a full time position based on a 40 hour workweek. May be required to work overtime based on department operational needs. Job requirements include: NYS DMV vehicle inspector’s license at time of hire and ability to obtain NYS Class C with passenger endorsement driver’s license within 6 months of hire.
