Duties Description POSITION TITLE: PROJECT DIRECTOR II JG: 25

LOCATION: NEW YORK CITY FAMILY COURT

BASE SALARY: $94,386 + $4,920 LOCATION PAY

Project Directors II report to the Chief Clerk and work in the largest problem solving parts in New York City or in counties with populations exceeding 400,000. Project Directors II report to the Chief Clerk and are responsible for overseeing the work of five (5) or more Case Managers and Resource Coordinators. Project Directors II prepare written reports, maintain statistical records, coordinate grant management and develop linkages with outside social service agencies. Project Directors II may also be responsible for providing District wide support and supervision to problem solving parts. They may also perform administrative and other related duties.

Under the supervision of executive leadership, the Project Director II is responsible for overseeing problem-solving courts within New York City Family Court, including but not limited to Human Trafficking Intervention Parts, Juvenile Delinquency Parts, and Supervised Drug Testing for Child Protective Parts. This position provides citywide supervision of Resource Coordinators and Case Managers, ensuring accountability, compliance, and effective service delivery.

The Project Director II will lead research and development of policies and protocols to enhance program operations and outcomes. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: holding citywide stakeholder meetings with community partners and service providers; conducting agency site visits; assisting with program development, planning, and implementation; managing data systems, preparing statistical and compliance reports; providing referrals to appropriate treatment programs; monitoring participants’ progress; and reporting updates during scheduled court appearances.

The role may also require participation in case conferences with Judges and collaboration with stakeholders to advance best practices across all problem-solving court initiatives, as well as monitoring grant funding and supporting application processes as needed.

Minimum Qualifications Master's Degree from an accredited school of social work and three (3) years of satisfactory full-time experience in social casework with a recognized public or private agency adhering to accepted professional standards; or Bachelors Degree from an accredited school of social work and five (5) years of satisfactory full-time experience in social casework with a recognized public or private agency adhering to accepted professional standards; or Credentialized Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor Certificate (CASAC) and six (6) years of satisfactory full-time experience in social casework with a recognized public or private agency adhering to accepted professional standards; or An equivalent combination of education and experience.
