Job Specifics
Duties Description Inspects, checks and patrols areas to detect vandalism or non-adherence to safety procedures; reports defects, possible hazards or potentially dangerous conditions. Performs routine and unskilled work such as carrying supplies and equipment, erecting ladders & scaffolding, cleaning, removing materials from construction sites, preparing surfaces & painting, digging ditches, loading & unloading trucks, performing rough carpentry, cleaning. Operates self-propelled and motorized equipment, such as lawn mowers, pumps, compressors, vehicles, small trucks, light construction equipment, electric pallet jacks, forklifts, and snow removal equipment. Loads and unloads heavy equipment, supplies, and furniture by physically lifting items or operating equipment.
Minimum Qualifications There are no education or experience qualifications for this class. Applicants must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position and be able to understand and carry out written or oral instructions. When required to operate motor vehicles, incumbents must possess a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle being operated.
Additional Comments This is a seasonal, hourly appointment with an anticipated end date of 11/30/2026. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date.

Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position.
Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain.
Must be able to work in remote areas.
Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions.
Travel may be required.

Must be available to respond to after-hours emergencies.
Must be able to lift and move objects up to 40 pounds.
