Job Specifics

Duties Description This position would be assigned to DEC Region 3 regional administration and is critical to ensuring the region’s effectiveness by reviewing and maximizing regional organization performance to support the delivery of DEC’s mission. The position will evaluate procedures, develop recommendations, and track program processes and effectiveness.

The incumbent will:

•Identify challenges associated with regional work processes and work flow. Collect pertinent data through various means such as interviews, questionnaires, reports, and on-site observations. Identify challenges or factors inhibiting the achievement of program goals.

•Work together with regional management to develop processes or work plans in accordance with the objectives.

•Review, design, and update regional forms, policies, and administrative and procedural manuals.

•Coordinate information flow within the region to ensure uniformity of office policies and procedures and resolve administrative and operational challenges.

•Analyze, compile, and track priority matters and provide such information to regional management.

•Provide technical assistance to program managers in implementing new or revised administrative processes.

•Assist regional management in reviewing and preparing internal controls for all regional programs.

•Act as a backup for the IT Regional Coordinator entering various Information Technology Services (ITS) requests in the ITS Service Portal for the region for employee onboarding and offboarding, requests for new (or replacement) equipment (i.e. computer, cell phone), requests for software or computer accessories, and updating email lists.

•Supervise regional administrative staff, as necessary.

•Provide administrative support for the Regional Director and programs, as necessary

•Handle special projects and assignments, as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications Reassignment - Currently in the title and an employee of DEC.

Reinstatement Eligible - Previously held the title on a permanent competitive basis or held a title as indicated under the transfer eligible section on a permanent competitive basis.
or

Transfer Eligible - One year of permanent competitive service at Salary Grade 11 or higher and eligible to transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Additional Comments Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position.
