Duties Description As a psychiatrist 2 at the Washington Heights OnTrackNY program, you will provide outpatient psychiatric treatment to individuals enrolled in specialized early psychosis services.”?

The selected candidate will serve as a Team Psychiatrist within the OnTrackNY Program as part of a multidisciplinary specialized team to provide coordinated and assertive direct psychiatric care to adolescents and young adults (ages 16-30) experiencing early psychosis. The OnTrackNY model offers hopeful, youth-friendly, recovery-oriented work; a supportive and collaborative team-based approach; low patient caseload; training and technical assistance in the CSC model; and a learning community of experts and colleagues with the goal of empowering young people to make meaning of their experiences and pursue their goals for school, work, and relationships. Child and adolescent fellowship training, experience working within community-based mental health service settings and with adolescents and/or young adults with psychosis, and Spanish fluency are preferred.

Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (HELPS) program if they have a license and current registration to practice medicine in New York State and have certification in psychiatry approved by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN).

OR

Candidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Additional Comments Psychiatrists at OMH facilities are eligible for:
• Psychiatrist Loan Repayment Program offering up to $120,000
• Supplemental income of up to 50% of salary by volunteering to provide evening, night, and weekend coverage

The posted salary is for a full time position.

This position is eligible for a Downstate Adjustment of $4,000.

3. License and Certification: Loss of license or limited permit to practice medicine in New York State or board certification, if required, may result in removal from your position.
