Job Specifics

Duties Description Graduate Nurses at St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center are members of a multi-disciplinary team focused on providing compassionate care through patient-centered and recovery-focused mental health services to individuals with serious mental illness under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse including:
• Providing nursing care
• Conducting nursing assessments
• Implementing infection control protocols and procedures
• Observing and recording individual's symptoms and care; reporting responses to medications or changes in health

Minimum Qualifications St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center is currently recruiting Graduate Nurses to join their Nursing Team. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply.

Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (NY HELPS) program as a Graduate Nurse if they
• Possess a limited permit as a graduate nurse in New Your State; or
• Are eligible to enter examination for licensure as a registered nurse in New York State.

OR

Candidates within State Service can be considered for transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
Candidates will immediately advance to Registered Nurse 1 Psychiatric, SG-18, when they receive their NYS Registered Nurse license.
