Job Specifics

Duties Description • Under the direction of Camp Director, Cultural Manger and /or higher-level park operations staff, senior camp counselors are responsible for the daily supervision of campers within his/her groups and other tasks as assigned, making sure that the daily activity schedules are followed, alerting the Camp Director to any need for schedule changes, promptly reporting any incidents/accidents to the Camp Director ensuring that the counselors involved with any and all incidents fill out the required Incident Report Forms.
• The Senior Camp Counselor must constantly reinforce the rules and regulations of the camp and OPRHP, enforce the camp dress code, and conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the agencies code of conduct & customer service standards each day.
• The Senior Camp Counselor will interact directly with the campers in their groups as they go through daily activities and will assist the other counselors as needed.
• The Senior Camp Counselor is responsible for knowing the names of all campers and counselors under his/her supervision as well as allergies of any camper under their care.
• The Senior Camp Counselor on all camp trips, must have copies available of all parent/guardian trip and swimming consent forms and emergency contact information.
• The Senior Camp Counselor will make sure that daily attendance of his or her group is taken and reported to the Camp Director in a timely manner, Senior Camp counselors will ensure throughout the day that each camper is present and accounted for within the group at each activity.
• The Senior Camp Counselor will prepare performance evaluations for the Counselors within his/her group and will submit these proposed evaluations to the Camp Director for approval before the evaluations are considered finalized.

Minimum Qualifications NO MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS TITLE PER CIVIL SERVICE.

*Candidates must produce two reference letters from associates and past employers, but no persons related to the applicant.

Additional Comments OPERATIONAL NEEDS:
• The Senior Counselors should be at least 18 years of age with at least one season of experience as a Camp Counselor.
• Candidates must pass screening against the State Sex Offenders Registry.
