Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications Current or previous permanent service as an Office Assistant 1 or
One year current or previous permanent in the Office Assistant 1 title series or
Must be reachable on the current civil service list for Office Assistant 1 .

Duties Description • Greet all visitors, answer telephones, and respond to all inquiries regarding activities and procedures, forwarding more technical questions to the appropriate staff.
• Receive incoming mail and log, file, or distribute accordingly
• Maintain manual, and automated files of correspondence, documents, and materials, by coding and filing new material, searching for requested material, and periodically purging obsolete material
• Review work to ensure conformance with standard office practices including correct layout, spelling, punctuation and grammar
• Ability to produce documents, letters, or memos and forms with a high degree of accuracy
• Ability to be flexible and work as a team player
• Handle and distribute the paychecks for faculty/staff/students
• Backup for entries into the Banner system
• Other reasonable duties as assigned
