Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications The Environmental Protection Bureau in the New York State Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is seeking an experienced litigator for the New York City office. Applicants must have a minimum of (7) seven years of experience litigating environmental or comparable complex cases. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of federal and state environmental statutes, will have served as primary counsel in both federal and state court litigation, including cost recovery cases, and will have experience in every aspect of litigation, including initiation of litigation, discovery, motions, oral arguments, trials, and settlements. Excellent writing skills are required, and the applicant must have the ability to work well with client agencies. Commitment to public service is essential.
Applicants must reside in (or intend to soon become a resident of) New York State and be admitted to practice law in New York State. In addition, the Public Officers Law requires that attorneys in the Office be citizens of the United States. A two (2) year commitment upon being hired is a condition of employment.
