Job Specifics

Duties Description Reporting directly to the Deputy Commissioner, the Senior Advisor for Engagement and Workforce, in the Division of Child Care Services (DCCS) would coordinate provider and workforce supports across bureaus and build partnerships essential to child care expansion. The Division of Child Care Services has seen tremendous growth in recent years in funding, families, and providers served. As the Division scales universal child care initiatives and manages special federal and state regulatory processes, the need to formalize provider engagement and workforce support efforts is critical to the continued success of the Division and the Governor's child care agenda.


Duties would include but are not limited to:

-Build and nurture trusted relationships with child care providers, child care stakeholders and industry partners
- Lead provider engagement for special initiatives including coordination with SED on UPK expansion
-Convening with external stakeholder groups
-Work with DCCS staff and other state agencies to facilitate cross-sector coordination and alignment.
-Lead provider wellness and workforce development initiatives to support provider retention, professional development, and well-being.
-Serve as liaison between regulatory, operational, and partner agency priorities while strengthening our engagement on quality standards and shared goals.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in public administration, public policy, women’s or gender studies, social work or a related field. In addition, eight years’ experience must have been gained in the overall management administration of a federal or state-level program or large-scale and complex initiative in the human services fields. Specific background or experience in early childhood education policy, data, and/or direct services is preferred. Individuals with previous experience in a leadership role with community-based organizing and community outreach encouraged to apply.

Additional Comments Background Investigation Requirements:

2) All prospective employees will be screened against the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR). Prospective employees will be required to pay any necessary fees.
