Job Specifics
Duties Description Working in the Division of Residential Support, Bureau of Administration, the incumbent will perform various administrative tasks to support the Center's infrastructure including, but not limited to, managing the Center's grant and contract activities specifically the Civil Monetary Penalty (CMP) program, dispersing funds to qualified organizations to be used for projects to benefit residents of Nursing Homes, directing, planning, initiating, coordinating, maintaining, and evaluating a statewide program to protect the health and the property of nursing home residents and produce measurable benefits; developing requests for applications/proposals, applicant review development, tracking and payment processing, and serve as a liaison between the Department of Health and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and its contracted Financial Incentive Administrator to successfully implement a joint Nursing Home Staffing Initiative designed to increase the number of Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses working in New York State licensed, Medicaid Certified Nursing Homes. Additionally, the incumbent will create technology-based reporting methods, coordinating response to information requests received via the Freedom of Information Law, for audit and legal purposes, and/or at stakeholder request; assisting with development of electronic forms, surveys; supporting and/or participating in various stakeholder workgroups; supervision of support staff; and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Permanent Transfer Candidates: Current NYS employee with one or more years of permanent or contingent-permanent competitive service in a salary grade at or above G21 and eligible for transfer via Section 52.6 or Section 70.1 of the NYS Civil Service Law OR reachable on the appropriate civil service list for this title.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with grants and contract development and use of the Statewide Financial System; proficient use of the Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and SharePoint; experience with workflow development and management; and excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask with competing priorities.
