Job Specifics
Duties Description The Office of Mental Health (OMH) is currently recruiting to fill a Mental Health Program Specialist 3, Grade 25, position in the Hudson River Field Office (HRFO). The incumbent will support the development and implementation of the new Adult Services Unit.
Specific duties to be performed may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Supervise MHPS2 staff in the processes of:
• Monitoring and support of unlicensed programs
• Technical assistance and follow up to support adoption/adherence regarding standards of care
• Provide implementation support for new and expanding program models
• Coordination and planning across bureaus of the HRFO to integrate supports
• Coordination and support to County Local Government Units to identify resource gaps and needs and support planning.
• Partnership with OMH Licensing Staff around progress and follow up related to contract programs, PAR, EZPAR Processes
• Support for counties in SIM and CIT Processes
• Partnership with Licensing and cross bureau staff to support Article 28 and 31 hospitals in the implementation new program guidance and regulations.
Coordinate field office process around complaints and complex care cases for adults
• Triage and assign incoming complaints for follow up
• Review and trend data related to complaints for use in planning
• Participate in or assign staff to participate in State Operations “FLOW” calls
Participate as a member of the HRFO Management Team
• Support cross bureau coordination by meeting as a part of the Management Team on a weekly basis
• Support staff development and wellness planning and activities
• Participate in the review and development of FO policies and procedures
• Orientation, training and support of new staff
Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be employed by New York State to be eligible to apply for this position.
Transfer:
Candidates must have permanent status as an Mental Health Program Specialist 3, Grade 25, and be eligible for lateral transfer; OR be eligible for transfer via Section 52.6 or Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
