Job Specifics
Duties Description • Coordinate with ITS Service Desk leads to identify critical issues, declare major incidents (MIs), and engage technical teams.
• Act as the primary liaison between technical teams and ITS executive management, providing regular, accurate updates on incident progress.
• Lead investigation efforts, facilitate technical and critical conference bridges, and drive efforts to establish workarounds or permanent solutions.
• Ensure all actions, timelines, and decisions are documented within the incident record for audit and improvement purposes.
ITS provides operational support to state agencies on a
24x7x365 basis; some positions may be required to provide this
critical service at any time.
• Conduct Post-Incident Reviews (PIR) to analyze root causes, identifying lessons learned, and improving existing incident management procedures.
• Manage cross-functional teams and resolving resource conflicts during the incident, escalating to management when necessary.
• Supervise enterprise Incident Management team, to ensure all activities identified above are consistently performed for all MIs.
Minimum Qualifications One year of permanent competitive services as an Information Technology Specialist 4 OR in a position at G-23 or higher deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of Civil Service Law OR in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in advancement of more than two salary grades.

Appointment to this position and continued employment with the agency is contingent upon obtaining and/or maintaining New York State residency within six months of hiring.
Appointment to this position is not final until all agency approvals have been granted.
Additional Comments ITS will not offer permanent employment to any candidate unless the candidate provides documentation that they are authorized to accept work in the United States on a permanent basis. If eligible, positions located in New York City will receive an additional $4,000 downstate adjustment location pay with regular annual salary.
